John Calipari has never been one to hide his feelings about anything.
The University of Kentucky head coach literally threw his hands up in the air after learning his team — which won the SEC tournament on Sunday — earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament’s East region.
A perplexed Calipari went on ESPN and opened his interview by wondering how conference rival Texas A&M could earn a No. 3 seed despite losing to to UK in the conference tournament finals. That was only the beginning of Calipari’s animated rant, as he then channeled Dick Vitale in a fantastic spiel about how the tournament was seeded.
Of course, as Calipari himself said, the Wildcats might see that lower seeding as a slight and use it as motivation. Given Calipari’s reaction Sunday, however, it’s safe to assume there will be no shortage of motivation for UK.
