March Madness can be exhilarating, but it also can be oh so cruel.

No. 11 seed Northern Iowa learned that the hard way Sunday, when it suffered the worst collapse in college basketball history in its 92-88 double overtime loss. The Panthers looked like a sure bet to make the Sweet 16 thanks to their 12-point lead over No. 3 Texas A&M with 31 seconds remaining, but the Aggies came back in one of the most shocking endings to a basketball game you’ll ever see.

A loss like that would be hard for anyone to take, let alone one of the best basketball players in the world. Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James was asked Wednesday how he would handle a collapse like that. His response could be summed up in two words — not well.

“I would quit basketball,” James said, via 92.3 The Fan’s T.J.Zuppe.
