You’d be hard-pressed to find a defense more disgusting than the one the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University used against Erin Andrews.
The former ESPN reporter, who currently works for FOX Sports 1, is suing the hotel franchisee for $75 million in damages after Michael David Barrett posted a nude video of Andrews that he was able to film through the peephole of her room there by asking where she was staying and requesting an adjoining room. On Tuesday, the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University’s defense went so far as to say the violation of Andrews’ privacy was good for her career.
The courtroom had to pause as Andrews became emotional.
Barrett already was convicted and sentenced to 30 months in jail. The jury in this particular case faces a tall task, especially in the wake of the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University’s strange defense.
