You know the rest of the NFL is sick of Terrell Owens’ antics when one of its most soft-spoken players is ripping into him.
Owens was one of 15 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2016 but didn’t make the final cut. Never afraid to speak his mind, Owens immediately voiced his displeasure over the snub, even taking a shot at Hall of Famer Cris Carter in the process.
But this week, it was Owens’ turn to feel the heat. Former Indianapolis Colts great Marvin Harrison, the only wideout in the 2016 Hall of Fame class, joined the “Talk Of Fame Network” for a recent radio interview and absolutely lit into T.O.
“I wasn’t concerned at all (about the possibility he and Owens would split votes and thus deny each other entry this year),” Harrison told hosts Ron Borges, Rick Gosselin and Clark Judge. “I’m not concerned about, you know, T.O. Not one bit. I was concerned about myself. I wasn’t worried about splitting the vote with anyone. That was it.”
Harrison finally reached the Hall in his third year of eligibility, while Owens was denied entry in his first year. And apparently Harrison has a serious problem with Owens’ complaints.
“The person who was supposed to get in got in,” Harrison continued. “And that was me. If he didn’t get in, that’s his problem. He can talk all that other bull— like he’s been doing. That’s on him. But I’m in. My jacket is gold. I will look in the rearview for nobody.
“So he can get his ass in whenever he gets in … if he gets in. If he doesn’t get in, too bad. The hell with him.”
This is about as strong a reaction as you’ll ever see out of the normally reserved Harrison, but then again, Owens seems to have a way of pushing people’s buttons.
