Remember Nate Robinson, the NBA player who’s best known for his slam dunk contest prowess? He’s hoping you’ll eventually remember him as the guy who played in both the NBA and NFL.

Robinson, who’s appeared in just 88 NBA games over the last three seasons, has announced his intentions of joining the NFL.

In a video produced by The Lead Sports, the former University of Washington two-sport standout expressed his desire to give it a shot on the gridiron.

Perhaps the biggest endorsement in that video comes from Rick Neuheisel, who coached Robinson — who played cornerback — at Washington.

“In my mind, I’ve seen one athlete that could do this, and that’s Nate Robinson,” the coach said.

For anyone doubting Robinson, he had this to say Thursday in an Instagram post.

If Robinson channels the athletic ability of his prime, he might have a chance. However, he’ll turn 32 in May, and he’s already put his legs through more than 600 NBA games, not to mention he’s listed at just 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds. Regardless, it should be fun to watch.
