Peyton Manning’s playing days are over, but the parade of love for the all-time great isn’t likely to end any time soon.

Manning’s career is done after 18 extremely successful NFL seasons, and he already has been showered with praise from fans, media and even adversaries such as longtime rivals Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.

The five-time NFL MVP is credited with revolutionizing the quarterback position, as shown by the league record book and the never-ending flow of plaudits for his play. But Manning certainly has had his detractors over the years (most of them across the six New England states). That only has intensified, given recent scandals and controversies that were overshadowed by Manning’s second Super Bowl win and ensuing retirement.
