Of all the moments President Barack Obama has experienced during his eight years in the Oval Office, Boston’s response to the 2013 marathon bombing and David Ortiz’s F-bomb were some of his proudest.

Obama took in an exhibition contest between the Tampa Bay Rays and Cuban national team at Estadio Latinoamericano in Havana on Tuesday during his historic trip to Cuba, where he recalled Ortiz saying, “This is our (expletive) city,” in the bombing’s aftermath.

“One of my proudest moments as president was watching Boston respond after the marathon (attack) and when Ortiz went out and said, probably the only time that America didn’t have a problem with cursing on live TV, when he talked about how strong Boston was and was not going to be intimidated,” Obama said on the ESPN broadcast of the game, via SportingNews.com. “And that is the kind of resilience and the kind of strength that we have to continually show in the face of these terrorists.”

You can relive Ortiz’s speech in the video below.
