Rajon Rondo Confuses Everyone With Bizarre Inbounds Sequence (Video)

Rajon Rondo had everyone scratching their heads (again) Monday night.

The polarizing point guard is no stranger to bizarre behavior, but his wacky inbounding tactics cost the Sacramento Kings in their 131-116 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Rondo, who was preparing for an inbounds play with just over a second remaining in the first half, was slapped with back-to-back delay of game calls after ignoring an official who was trying to hand him the basketball. Rondo simply didn’t pick up the rock.

The calls resulted in two free throws — one after each call — for the Thunder. Kevin Durant sunk them both to extend Oklahoma City’s lead to 61-53 before halftime.

Rondo finished one rebound shy of a triple-double in the loss. And judging by the Thunder’s 15-point margin of victory, Rondo’s ill-advised inbounding technique hardly was the difference. It definitely was a mind-boggling sequence, though.

Then again, that’s just Rondo.
