Rajon Rondo Seeking ‘Last Stop’ With Next Contract In NBA Free Agency

Rajon Rondo is done being a nomad.

Rondo will hit free agency again this summer after spending the 2015-16 season with the Sacramento Kings. The 30-year-old isn’t sure where he’ll land, but it’s clear he wants to settle down upon signing his next contract.

“I want to make this — whatever I do — my last stop,” Rondo told the New York Post on Sunday.

Rondo spent his first eight-plus seasons with the Boston Celtics, who traded the four-time All-Star to the Dallas Mavericks in December 2014. The polarizing point guard hit the open market last offseason after finishing his 2014-15 campaign with the Mavs, but he ultimately signed just a one-year, $9.5 million contract with the Kings.

Rondo’s next contract should surpass his Kings deal in both years and dollars, even though he’s had some head-scratching moments this season. The veteran is averaging 11.7 points per game and an NBA-best/career-high 11.8 assists per game in 65 contests.
