The personal life ramifications of D’Angelo Russell videotaping teammate Nick Young appear far from over, but how it will impact the Los Angeles Lakers and Russell’s future also factor into the equation.

To be clear, there haven’t been any credible reports saying the Lakers want to trade Russell after the tape, which showed Young talking about his exploits with women other than fiancee Iggy Azalea, found its way online. But if Los Angeles decides to make a drastic move and deal the former No. 2 overall draft pick, the Boston Celtics reportedly could ‘pique the Lakers’ interest’ with all their assets, a source told CSN New England’s A. Sherrod Blakely.

“All those picks and young players Boston has, they could probably put a package together that would at least pique the Lakers’ interest,” a league executive texted Blakely. “But do the Lakers want to move him over something like this? I don’t think so. But hey, stranger things have happened.”

So it’s not like the Lakers are looking to deal Russell already, according to the source, but Boston would be a team that could get a possible trade done because of its arsenal of young players and draft picks. But as Blakely points out, Marcus Smart likely would have to be part of it, too.

So Trader Danny Ainge might have to work a little magic.
