Report: Nate Robinson Defers NFL Dream, Agrees To Play Basketball In Israel

Nate Robinson remains too good of a basketball player to pursue a career in professional football.

Robinson has agreed to sign with Israeli team Hapoel Tel Aviv, David Pick reported on Twitter.

Robinson revealed last week that he’d like a shot at playing in the NFL. He would become the first player to play in the NBA and NFL if he managed to do so, but that doesn’t look likely to happen … at least for now.

So we can only wonder how the 5-foot-9, 180-pound former University of Washington football player might fare in the NFL if given the chance. That is at age 31 and after 10 years in the NBA and a stint on the overseas basketball circuit.

Oh well.
