While Bill Belichick, Brian Belichick and Nick Caserio scouted Auburn’s pro day Monday, New England Patriots scouts put in work at Minnesota.

The Patriots were “very active” at Minnesota’s pro day, Tony Pauline of DraftInsider.net reported Monday. The Patriots met with linebacker De’Vondre Campbell and pass rusher Theiren Cockran, according to Pauline.

Cockran, who’s 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, recorded a 37-inch vertical leap and 10-foot, 1-inch broad jump at the pro day. He had 14.5 sacks and 24 tackles for loss in four seasons with the Golden Gophers. He’s currently projected to be drafted in the seventh round.

Campbell measured in at 6-foot-4, 232 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine. He ran a 4.58-second 40-yard dash and posted a 34-inch vertical leap and 9-foot, 8-inch broad jump. He’s projected as a fifth-round draft pick.

Cornerbacks Eric Murray and Briean Boddy-Calhoun are the top prospects from Minnesota in this year’s draft. Murray is projected to be selected in the fourth round, while Boddy-Calhoun could go in the fourth or fifth round.

The Patriots are connected to Minnesota, with former Gophers safeties Brock Vereen and Cedric Thompson signed to future contracts after spending the end of the season on New England’s practice squad.
