UPDATE (6 p.m. ET): Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker was pronounced dead Friday at 5 p.m. ET, according to his agent, Ron Baker. He was 23.

ORIGINAL STORY: Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker is in critical condition after crashing his dirt bike in Miami on Thursday night.

Walker, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, spent Thursday night into Friday morning in surgery and is in critical condition. He’s “fighting for his life,” according to Rapoport. Walker wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

According to police, Walker was riding a dirt bike with no lights when he hit a Ford Escape. The accident came at a four-way stop in Miami-Dade, according to the Ravens’ team website. According to Mark Viviano, a TV reporter in Baltimore, Walker’s sister says the SUV ran a stop sign before striking Walker.

“Oh my God, this is devastating news,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said, according to the team’s website. “Our prayers and hopes are with Tray and his family tonight.”

Walker was selected by the Ravens in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He appeared in eight games during his rookie season, mostly as a special teamer.
