Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan said recently at the NFL Annual Meeting that defending the New England Patriots’ imposing tight end duo of Rob Gronkowski and new addition Martellus Bennett will be a “major challenge”.
Well, it appears Gronk himself agrees with Ryan’s assessment that him and Bennett are going to be a huge problem for opposing defenses next season.
The All-Pro tight end had a little fun with Ryan’s quote Tuesday by posting a story on the subject to his Facebook page.
Gronkowski has been a nightmare for the Bills to defend, averaging 77 receiving yards with a total of 10 touchdown receptions in nine career games against Buffalo. The Patriots have won eight of those games.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that adding another Pro Bowler in Bennett to the equation has Ryan a bit concerned.
