Ronda Rousey’s Great-Grandfather Was A Famous Black Doctor (Video)

Apparently Ronda Rousey is not the first celebrity in her family.

The UFC star and former women’s bantamweight champion is very well known for her work in the octagon, but it turns out Rousey’s great grandfather might actually be more famous than her.

TMZ spotted Rousey in Los Angeles on Wednesday with her family, and during the brief encounter Rousey’s mother dropped a fun fact: Rousey’s great grandpa is none other than Dr. Alfred Waddell — “one of the first black physicians in North America,” according to Rousey’s mom.
