Liverpool is set to renew hostilities with Manchester City, following a two-day break.
The teams will face off for the second consecutive game Wednesday at Anfield. However, three Premier League points are at stake in this meeting, instead of the Capital One Cup, which Manchester City claimed Sunday.
Manchester City currently sits fourth in the Premier League standings with 47 points after 26 games. Liverpool occupies 11th place with 38 points from 26 games but it can climb as high as seventh with a victory.
Raheem Sterling will return to Anfield for the first time since his acrimonious transfer from Liverpool to Manchester City last summer. The 21-year-old winger should expect plenty of boos from the home fans.
