Two of the Premier League’s most intense rivals will meet Thursday when Liverpool hosts Manchester United at Anfield in a UEFA Europa League Round of 16 first leg matchup.
The Red Devils still have a decent chance of securing a top-four spot in the league standings and qualifying for the 2016-17 Champions League as a result, but Liverpool’s best chance of playing in that competition next season is winning this campaign’s Europa League. That automatically would qualify the Reds.
