Texas A&M needed a miracle to make the Sweet 16. Oklahoma needed Buddy Hield.
The No. 3 seed Aggies were 35 seconds away from calling it a season Sunday, but thanks to a record-breaking collapse by No. 11 seed Northern Iowa, Texas A&M is one win away from reaching the Elite Eight.
But it has to get past the No. 2 seed Sooners in a West Region NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 matchup Thursday night first. And that certainly won’t be easy considering Oklahoma arguably has the best player in the country in Hield.
The winner of Texas A&M-Oklahoma faces the winner of No. 1 Oregon and No. 4 Duke in the Elite Eight on Saturday.
