The New England Patriots traded the 61st pick (second round) of the 2016 NFL Draft to the New Orleans Saints on Friday night, per The Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe.

New England originally acquired pick No. 61 as part of the trade that sent defensive end Chandler Jones to the Arizona Cardinals in March. The last draft trade between the Patriots and Saints came in 2008 when New England went from No. 7 to No. 10 in the first round and took Tennessee linebacker Jerod Mayo.

The Patriots selected Alabama cornerback Cyrus Jones one pick before at No. 60 in Round 2. They now have three third-round selections at Nos. 78, 91 and 96 (compensatory pick).
