The 2016 NFL Draft commences Thursday night in Chicago with all 31 first-round picks being made.

The Los Angeles Rams hold the top pick for the first time since 2010 after acquiring the selection in a recent trade with the Tennessee Titans.

The Rams likely will select California quarterback Jared Goff, which would leave the Eagles with North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz at No. 2. These players easily are the best quarterbacks available and should be selected with the top two picks.

The real value in the first round is on defense, especially on the defensive line. Teams in need of depth at defensive tackle and defensive end should be able to select a quality player throughout the first round.
