BOSTON — The Red Sox open their first series against the New York Yankees on Friday, and they get to do it in the friendly confines of Fenway Park.

Brock Holt is back in the lineup after getting a day off against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday, and he’ll play in left field and bat in his usual No. 7 spot in the order. Catcher Ryan Hanigan also will take over behind the plate for left-hander Henry Owens and bat eighth.

Owens made his Major League Baseball debut against the Yankees on Aug. 4, 2015, and he’ll be looking for some revenge after the Red Sox ended up going down 13-3 in that game. Owens gave up just three runs on five hits with five strikeouts and only one walk over five innings, but the bullpen imploded to spoil his debut.

Here are the Red Sox’s and Yankees’ lineups for Friday.

RED SOX (12-10)

Dustin Pedroia, 2B
Xander Bogaerts, SS
David Ortiz, DH
