Carlos Gomez Snaps Bat Clean In Half After Henry Owens Strikes Him Out

Carlos Gomez is one of the most emotional players you’ll find in Major League Baseball, and he certainly showed that Sunday.

The Houston Astros center fielder struck out swinging in the third inning on a 1-2 pitch from Boston Red Sox starter Henry Owens, and Gomez snapped his bat over his knee in frustration.

Gomez was batting just .197 with 16 strikeouts in 17 games headed into Sunday’s Red Sox-Astros matchup, so you can see why he’d react to leaving two runners on base that way.
