Claudio Ranieri has received praise from every corner of the sports world for his work as Leicester City’s manager, but how could any of it mean more to him than the love that his adopted home is showing him?

Ranieri this week watched a tribute video that Leicester City fans made in his honor, and the Italian barely could maintain his composure while seeing the Foxes faithful thank him for delivering their team to the brink of the 2015-16 Premier League title.

Leicester City is one win away from clinching their first-ever English soccer league championship — the club was founded in 1884 and the Football League in 1888. Leicester can clinch this season’s title by beating Manchester United at Old Trafford, the so-called “Theater of Dreams.”

The Foxes’ story is one of the most remarkable in the history of team sports, and Ranieri isn’t alone in his wonder at what his team has done in this dream season.

The 64-year-old also has never celebrated a league championship in his 43 years of playing and coaching at the professional level. It only makes sense that such an achievement would bring him to tears.
