Dejan Lovren: Dortmund Fans Made LFC Players Deaf During Europa League Draw

Dejan Lovren declared himself satisfied with Liverpool’s performance after it held Borussia Dortmund to a 1-1 draw Thursday.

And the Croatian warned BVB’s (Dortmund’s) stars that they’ll feel like they are playing against 12 men in the return leg of the sides’ UEFA Europa League quarterfinal series thanks to Anfield’s famous atmosphere.

Lovren was a colossus at the back as Jurgen Klopp’s men battled their way to a share of the spoils in a match that saw Divock Origi net a potentially important away goal before Mats Hummels leveled matters.

And it was the defensive discipline shown in conceding just once at the hands of a dangerous attack that particularly satisfied No. 6.

“We knew it would be a tough game,” Lovren told BT Sport. “They were keeping the ball really well. We had a couple of chances in the first half maybe to kill them, but in the end, I would say it was a good result for us with an away goal.

“We need to do even better at Anfield, definitely, but I’m satisfied today.

“It was a great job from everyone today, we had great discipline in defense — all 11 players.

“It was quite noisy, we couldn’t hear each other, but it was a great defensive job.”
