Dominique Easley Goes Unclaimed On Waivers; Patriots Cut Eric Martin

The New England Patriots had another busy day on the transaction wire.

The Patriots waived linebacker Eric Martin and signed running back Tyler Gaffney on Thursday.

Former Patriots defensive tackle Dominique Easley went unclaimed on waivers after being released by New England on Wednesday. That means the Patriots currently are on the hook for Easley’s $1,083,959 in guaranteed salary. If another team signs him as a free agent, the Patriots have to pay the difference, because they had offset language in his contract.

Martin signed to the Patriots’ practice squad in December 2014. He was on and off the Patriots’ roster and practice squad last season before being placed on injured reserve Dec. 19. He recorded two tackles in 2015.
