Drew Brees Questions Roger Goodell After Tom Brady Deflategate Ruling

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees spoke out against the NFL in an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Maggie Gray released Tuesday.

Brees’ strong words when asked about Tom Brady’s four-game Deflategate suspension being reinstated this week suggest a lack of trust in NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

“I think we would all agree that he definitely has too much power,” Brees told SI. “He is judge, jury and executioner when it comes to all the discipline. I’m not going to trust any league-led investigation when it comes to anything. It’s not transparent.”

The New England Patriots were docked a first-round draft pick in 2016 and a fourth-round choice in 2017 as part of Goodell’s Deflategate punishment. They also were fined $1 million.
