The prospect of paying Erin Andrews upward of $55 million apparently was enough to convince West End Hotel Partners and Windsor Capital Group to settle the lawsuit she filed against them.

Andrews’ lawyer announced Monday that the FOX Sports reporter has agreed to a settlement with the owner and operator of the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University, The Tennessean’s Stacey Barchenger reported Monday. Andrews was staying at the Vanderbilt Marriott when stalker Michael David Barrett secretly videotaped her through a peephole in 2008.

Andrews sued Barrett, West End Hotel Partners and Windsor Capital Group, and a jury awarded her $55 million in damages last month. Barrett was initially due to pay Andrews $28 million, with West End Hotel Partners and Windsor Capital Group paying the remaining $27 million.

But Andrews’ lawyers asked the judge to apply joint and several liability rules, under which West End Hotel Partners and Windsor Capital Group could have paid more than the original $28 million and perhaps the entire $55 million.

Lawyers for both parties agreed to settle the lawsuit just hours before they were set to discuss the rules with the judge.

“This litigation is over,” said Randall Kinnard, Andrews’ lawyer. “Erin Andrews is satisfied with the settlement, the terms of which are confidential.”
