Kobe Bryant went out in a fitting way: basking in the Hollywood spotlight.

The Los Angeles Lakers legend played the final game of his historic NBA career Wednesday night, and what a showing it was. Bryant poured in 60 points to lead a Lakers comeback win, ending what had been a tumultuous season on a high note.

Of course, with the night devoted to celebrating Bryant’s career, it was going to be memorable regardless. Bryant capped the celebration after the final buzzer by taking the microphone and saying one more goodbye to Lakers fans at Staples Center.

The farewell speech showcased a side of Bryant not often seen during his 20-year career. He was heartfelt, genuine and appreciative as he bid adieu to the fans who cheered him relentlessly from the time he was an 18-year-old rookie all the way up until his retirement.
