Martellus Bennett Already ‘Grinding’ With New Patriots Teammate

Martellus Bennett is hitting the ground running with his new organization.

Bennett, who was acquired by the New England Patriots last month in a trade with the Chicago Bears, posted a photo Monday on Instagram showing him and new teammate Danny Amendola working out together at the Unbreakable Performance Center in California.

Bennett and Amendola were teammates with the Dallas Cowboys in 2008, though Amendola spent the entire season on the practice squad while Bennett appeared in all 16 games. Apparently, they’re picking up right where they left off eight years later, which isn’t surprising given how quickly Bennett is fitting in with his new Patriots teammates. (Seriously, if you answer Tom Brady’s conch-shell call, which Bennett did, you’re already part of the family.)

The Patriots’ voluntary offseason program at Gillette Stadium is scheduled to kick off next Monday.
