Paxton Lynch, Broncos Draft Pick, Once Chose Tom Brady Over Peyton Manning

Before Paxton Lynch was drafted by the Denver Broncos, the quarterback was asked to weigh in on the Tom Brady-Peyton Manning debate.

And he went with the four-time Super Bowl champion.

“Now a days, it’s based on rings, really. But Tom Brady’s just in a league of his own right now, in my opinion — how many rings he’s won and how big of a competitor he is,” the Memphis quarterback told NESN’s Ashley Allen earlier this year on Super Bowl Radio Row. “He just plays with a chip on his shoulder, and that’s what I respect about him obviously. When he got drafted, you know, he was really late — basically not even drafted. To do what he’s done from that position, I have a lot of respect for him.”

Now, just a few months later, Lynch might be Manning’s replacement in Denver after the sure-fire Hall of Famer retired following the Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 victory. And that means he could potentially face Brady in Week 15 when the New England Patriots travel to Denver.

The Broncos also have veteran Mark Sanchez on their roster, so there’s a chance Lynch will sit his first season, which he said he would be OK with during the Radio Row interview.

But, as if the Broncos-Patriots rivalry wasn’t interesting enough, Denver’s likely future QB is on Team Brady.
