Red Sox’s Marco Hernandez Makes History In MLB Debut Vs. Blue Jays

The Boston Red Sox probably want to forget Sunday’s 5-3 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. Well, except for Marco Hernandez.

Hernandez made his Major League Baseball debut Sunday, batting ninth and playing second base for Boston. The 23-year-old Dominican Republic native certainly made it count, recording his first big-league hit in the fifth inning off Blue Jays pitcher Aaron Sanchez.

In fact, Hernandez became the first Red Sox player to record a run, a walk, a hit and a stolen base in his MLB debut. Check out Hernandez’ reaction to his exciting day in the “Red Sox First Pitch” video above.
