Maryland draft prospect Sean Davis reportedly had an eventful Friday.

Davis, a defensive back projected as a fifth-round pick in this month’s NFL draft, worked out for and watched film with New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported.

Davis has ideal size and testing numbers for a Patriots defensive back. He’s 6-foot-1, 201 pounds with 31 3/8-inch arms and 9 1/2-inch hands, and he ran a 4.46-second 40-yard dash with a 1.56-second 10-yard split. He also posted a 37.5-inch vertical leap, 10-foot, 6-inch broad jump, 6.64-second three-cone and 3.97-second short shuttle. He bench-pressed 21 reps of 225 pounds.

Davis played safety and cornerback at Maryland. He’s commonly projected to play free safety in the NFL, however.
