Stanley Cup 2016 Odds: Sportsbooks Favor Capitals In East, Kings In West

The field of 30 NHL teams has been whittled to 16 as the Stanley Cup playoffs begin this week.

The Presidents’ Trophy-winning Washington Capitals have owned the league’s best record for much of the season, and they enter the postseason as 4-1 favorites to win it all, according to sportsbooks monitored by Bovada.

Over in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Kings own the best odd of hoisting the Stanley Cup at 7-1, followed closely by the Chicago Blackhawks (15-2), Anaheim Ducks (8-1) and Dallas Stars (8-1). The Kings and Blackhawks have dominated the NHL in recent years, combining to win each of the last four Cup titles and five of the last six.
