The NFL released its 2016 schedule Thursday — an appropriate day to do it, considering the league just expanded its “Thursday Night Football” package to include games being broadcast on NBC and live-streamed on Twitter.
The 2016 “Thursday Night Football” schedule will begin with AFC East flair, with games featuring all four of the division’s teams. Those games will be broadcast by CBS and NFL Network, both of which handled the package the previous two seasons. This season, CBS and NBC will broadcast five games each, with NFL Network simulcasting those, too. NFL Network also will broadcast eight “Thursday Night Football” games on its own.
