Tom Brady has plenty of critics. But there’s one person who always has his back, and it’s exactly who you’d expect.
The New England Patriots quarterback recently spoke at an event for Dick’s Sporting Goods to promote the company’s recent documentary, “Keepers of the Game.” Brady entertained the crowd with stories from his younger playing days, but the highlight of his appearance was Brady revealing his mother’s unquestioning faith in her son’s ability.
“My mom was always the one that said, ‘You can do it. You can do it, sweetheart.’ She still says that!” Brady said. “I would say, ‘Mom — guys like Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, they make all these great plays with their feet.’ And (she’d say), ‘Well, you’re just as fast as they are!'”
“I said, ‘Mom, I don’t know what you’re watching.'”
Of course, Brady is known for being notoriously slow, but we think it’s great that his mom will come to his defense no matter what. The four-time Super Bowl champion also has a pretty staunch supporter in his father, so if you’re going to take shots at TB12, you’ll have to go through his parents first.
