UPDATE (12:57 a.m. ET): The Golden State Warriors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 125-104 to set the NBA’s single-season wins record at 73-9. Stephen Curry sat out the fourth quarter, finishing with 46 points in 30 minutes.

Boston Celtic Danny Ainge became the first player to ever hit 100 3-pointers in a season 28 years ago. Wednesday, Curry extended his own NBA record by becoming the first player ever to hit 400 3-pointers in a single season.
The previous record was 286, which Curry himself set last season, meaning he also became the first player to hit 300 threes in a season as well. He’s rapidly ascending the NBA’s all-time list, too.
Of course, it wasn’t just one three on the night for Curry, who lit up the Memphis Grizzlies for seven of them in the first half en route to 25 points before heading to the locker room.
The Warriors entered Wednesday’s contest with a 72-9 record. A win against Memphis would break the NBA’s all-time single-season record of 72-10 set by Michael Jordan’s 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.
