The New York Islanders have not won a Stanley Cup playoff series since 1993. The Florida Panthers have not done so since 1996.
One of those droughts will end this year.
The Islanders and Panthers will square off in the first round of the 2016 postseason, with that series getting underway Thursday night in Sunrise, Fla.
