New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon has been portrayed as a lovable, light-hearted character during his time with the New York Mets, but a new report doesn’t make the hefty pitcher look very good.
The New York Post published an eye-opening report Wednesday alleging the 42-year-old right-hander is living a secret life. According to the Post, Colon has two “secret love children” with a woman outside of his 21-year marriage.
The Post also reports that Alexandra Santos claims Colon hasn’t paid child support for the two children, a 7-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son. Colon is making $7 million this season, and his career earnings are right around $100 million.
“Mr. Colon obviously is a very talented baseball player and he earns a significant income, and we believe that his children should share in the lifestyle they would have enjoyed had their parents remained together,” Santos’ attorney told the New York Post.
Colon and his wife, Rosanna, have four sons. The Post reached out to Rosanna, who admitted to knowing about the pitcher’s second life but didn’t comment any further, insisting it was a personal matter.
