Draymond Green is one of the most confident players in the NBA; and with good reason.
He’s a max contract player and arguably the second-most important piece of a Golden State Warriors team on a mission to complete one of the most successful seasons in league history.
Green was so confident following the Warriors’ come-from-behind win in Game 4 of their second-round playoff series against the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night that he actually said his opponent is finished.
It’s not too often you hear this kind of talk mid-series, but in fairness to Green, the Warriors just got league MVP Steph Curry back from injury for Game 4. Curry had missed the previous three games of the series and he propelled Golden State to victory Monday night with an astounding 17 points in overtime — the most points ever scored in an OT period, regular season or playoffs.
Green also added 21 points and seven blocks.
The Blazers have played extremely well in this series and could force a Game 6 if Damian Lillard has another 40-point game, but winning the series seems pretty unrealistic.
Sorry Blazers fans, but Green is right.
