Welcome back to Eat Sleep Podcast Repeat, NESN.com’s wrestling podcast.

In this episode, Doug Kyed and Jeff Hancock break down WWE Extreme Rules. The biggest news out of the pay-per-view came at the very end, as former WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins returned to deliver a pedigree to his former Shield teammate, current champion Roman Reigns.

In an interesting twist, Rollins’ return came after Reigns retained the title by defeating AJ Styles in a brutal extreme rules match. Because of the format, Rollins interfering would have been completely legal, but the ex-champ decided to wait until his opponent was weakest to hand out the crushing blow. This opens the door for the next big feud and ensures a month of entertainment leading up to next month’s “Money In The Bank” PPV.

Additionally, the crew breaks down the fatal four-way Intercontinental Championship match between defending champion The Miz, Cesaro, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, which was by far the best match of the night.

That fallout also bled into “Monday Night Raw” when MITB qualifying matches began. With five of the entrants now set, who will fill the remaining two spots?
