WALTHAM, Mass. — Isaiah Thomas always has been a man of superstition, and that certainly hasn’t changed ahead of a pivotal moment in the Boston Celtics’ offseason.
The 2016 NBA Draft Lottery begins Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET, with the Celtics owning the third-best odds of landing the No. 1 overall pick in June’s draft.
The franchise traditionally has had very bad luck in the lottery, but this year the team has sent Thomas to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center to represent Boston in the lottery and hopefully turn its fortunes around.
So, did the All-Star point guard bring any sort of lucky charm with him to lottery night? As a matter of fact, he did.
To clarify, that’s the cereal we’re talking about. Like, actual Lucky Charms.
We suppose there’s no better lucky charm than Lucky Charms.
We’ll find out soon enough if Thomas’ superstitious snack bumps the Celtics up to No. 1 or No. 2, or whether it crumbles in the form of a drop to No. 4 or No. 5. Either way, we’ll give him props for taking his role seriously.
