BOSTON — Jackie Bradley Jr. has been the catalyst of the Red Sox’s relentless offensive attack, and neither show any signs of slowing down.
Bradley on Friday extended his career-long hitting streak to 25 games in his very first at-bat, blasting a solo home run to straightaway centerfield off Cleveland Indians starter Corey Kluber.

Bradley’s second-inning blast was historic for several reasons. For one, his 25-game hitting streak is one of just 16 streaks of that length or longer in franchise history. The Red Sox center fielder’s shot also gave Boston at least one home run in 20 consecutive games, a new franchise record. The 1996 club previously held that record at 19 straight games.
Bradley has accounted for seven of the 20 homers in the Sox’s current streak. Since his own hitting streak began on April 24, he entered Friday leading Major League Baseball in batting average (.407), OPS (1.240), RBIs (28) triples (tied with three) and extra base hits (17).
The 26-year-old still has nine games to go to catch Dom DiMaggio’s Red Sox-record 34-game hitting streak, but with the way Bradley is hitting right now, we’re not putting anything past him.
