Jeff Samardzija Broke His Bat Over His Knee, Overshadowing Fantastic Outing

Jeff Samardzija didn’t have a lot to be upset about Tuesday night.

The San Francisco Giants pitcher had his best start of the season against the Cincinnati Reds, going eight innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out nine.

However, what Samardzija did at the plate is overshadowing the fine work “Shark” did on the mound. That’s because the 31-year-old let his anger get the best of him in the eighth inning after striking out with runners on second and third, failing to drive in a couple of insurance runs with the Giants leading 3-1.

To express his frustration, Samardizja took his anger out on his bat.

If you’re the Giants, you probably don’t want one of your best starting pitchers using his leg as a tool for breaking apart solid wood, but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t impressed with Samardzija’s feat of strength.
