Johnny Manziel’s Friends Reportedly Fear For His Life Amid Continued Partying

Johnny Manziel’s downward spiral is showing no signs of slowing down, and his friends apparently are running out of options.

TMZ Sports published a startling report about the troubled ex-NFL quarterback Tuesday, reporting people close to Manziel are concerned he’s going to die if he doesn’t get help soon. Those sentiments echo what Manziel’s own father said about his son in February.

Manziel’s partying habits have been well documented, and excessive drug use and drinking have friends worried not only about the former Heisman Trophy winner’s long-term prognosis but also the short term.

“If he continues this way for much longer, he will die,” a source told TMZ Sports.

Another source “very close” to Manziel labeled the situation a “horrible downward spiral.”

According to the report, there have been attempted interventions, as those close to Manziel reportedly attempted to “confront” him about his issues. However, he “flipped out,” per the TMZ story, which actually is an attempt to “serve as a wake-up call.”

Manziel’s issues started a long time ago, but the problems really increased earlier this year.

Manziel has been dropped by two agents since February, and the Cleveland Browns released him in March once the NFL’s 2016 year officially began. Manziel then was involved in a horrific car crash but miraculously escaped without injury.

After the car crash, Manziel acknowledged the “issues” he had to deal with but not much came of that pledged change. Not long after, Manziel went on a bizarre Twitter rant essentially absolving himself of blame.

Most recently, Manziel was kicked out of a Las Vegas club for throwing a punch.
