Kevin Durant Takes Aim At NBA For Letting Draymond Green Off The Hook

The Golden State Warriors caught a break when the NBA decided not to suspend Draymond Green for his now-infamous crotch kick of Steven Adams during Game 3 of the NBA’s Western Conference finals.

But Kevin Durant isn’t surprised by the news.

The Oklahoma City Thunder forward was asked about Green’s non-suspension Tuesday ahead of the team’s Game 4 in OKC, and he laid on the sarcasm pretty thick in his response.

“I didn’t even think it was something we should be talking about. They’re not going to suspend Draymond Green,” Durant said. “He’s one of the premier players in the league on arguably one of the best teams in the history of the game. They’re not going to suspend him.

“I didn’t even really think about it. I knew the league was going to let him play or fine him or upgrade him to a Flagrant 2. We all knew that was going to happen. The league is about business.”

It doesn’t take too much reading between the lines to see that Durant essentially is calling out the NBA for giving Green special treatment. After all, the league just suspended Cleveland Cavaliers guard Dahntay Jones one game for a similar play on Toronto Raptors big man Bismack Boyombo, and Jones isn’t exactly on the same level as Green.

Of course, Green’s incident was different than Jones’, and he insists it wasn’t intentional. But we’re not surprised Durant is siding with his teammate in this scenario.
