Leicester City Wins Premier League Title After Chelsea’s Dramatic Comeback

One of the biggest underdog stories in sports history now is complete.

Leicester City, which started the 2015-16 Barclays Premier League season with 5,000-1 odds to win the title, clinched its first top-flight trophy in its 132-year history Monday thanks to Chelsea’s dramatic 2-2 draw against Tottenham.

Leicester City needed Tottenham to either tie or lose to Chelsea, and it looked like that wouldn’t be the case for most of Monday’s contest. But two second-half Chelsea goals, including Eden Hazard’s equalizer, meant Leicester’s 132-year wait finally was over.

Yes it was.

In case you don’t know much about the Foxes, they’ve only been back in the Premier League for two seasons after spending a decade in the lower levels. And they almost went right back down in 2014-15 but managed to avoid relegation by finishing in 14th place.

Now, they’re the best soccer team in England.
