Mississipi State University is in mourning after a tragic accident at Davis Wade Stadium.

Andrew Scott Demboski died early Saturday morning from injuries he suffered after falling from the Jumbotron at Davis Wade Stadium, according to WTVA in Starkville, Miss. Demboski and two others sneaked into the stadium and climbed atop the 135-foot-tall video board. He fell to his death from a metal awning around 18 feet onto a platform.

“What he was walking on was not designed to be walked on,” Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt told WTVA. “We’re lucky all three of them didn’t get hurt.”

Dembowski’s fall came hours before Mississippi State’s commencement ceremony at Davis Wade Stadium.

Demboski was a junior environmental Economics and Management major. He was just 21 years old.
