The New England Patriots are having quite the busy Thursday.
After reportedly agreeing to contracts with two of their 2016 NFL Draft selections earlier in the day, the Patriots have come to terms with second-round pick Cyrus Jones, according to multiple reports.
The team reportedly also has agreed to contracts wide receivers Malcolm Mitchell and Devin Lucien and offensive guard Ted Karras, per reports.
New England took Jones, a cornerback out of Alabama, in the second round with the 60th overall pick. He was the Patriots’ first selection in the draft, since they had their first-round pick taken away as a result of Deflategate.
Jones’ contract is worth $4 million over four years, according to OverTheCap.com.
The Patriots are hoping Jones can provide depth and versatility in the secondary, where Malcolm Butler and Logan Ryan are expected to start at the outside cornerback positions. Jones also was a standout on special teams, returning four punts for touchdowns as a senior for the Crimson Tide, and could challenge Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola for the starting punt returner role.
