Patriots Sign Eight Draft Picks And Eight Undrafted Free Agents, Release One

The New England Patriots have signed eight of their nine selections in the 2016 NFL Draft less than a week after the event concluded.

The Patriots announced they signed second-round pick cornerback Cyrus Jones, third-round pick offensive lineman Joe Thuney, third-round pick defensive tackle Vincent Valentine, fourth-round pick wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell, sixth-round picks linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill, linebacker Elandon Roberts and guard Ted Karras and seventh-round pick wide receiver Devin Lucien to their rookie contracts. The only remaining unsigned draft pick is quarterback Jacoby Brissett.

The Patriots also announced the signings of eight undrafted free agents: cornerbacks V’Angelo Bentley, Jonathan Jones and Cre’Von LeBlanc, running back/wide receiver D.J. Foster, defensive tackle Woodrow Hamilton, linebacker C.J. Johnson and tight ends Steven Scheu and Bryce Williams.

The Patriots released running back Joey Iosefa to make room on their roster. Iosefa had 14 carries for 51 yards last season for the Patriots.
