Salvador Perez Injury: Royals Catcher Helped Off Field With Hurt Leg After Collision

When the injury bug bites, it bites hard.

Kansas City Royals All-Star catcher Salvador Perez was helped off the field Saturday against the Chicago White Sox following a collision with third baseman Cheslor Cuthbert on a routine foul pop up.

The Royals defeated the Chicago White Sox 8-7 after a wild seven-run ninth inning.

They received a bit of relative good news regarding Perez, too.

Depending on how severe the quad contusion is, Perez could be looking at DL stint, Ned says. But looks like Royals avoided total disaster.

Kansas City also lost starting third baseman Mike Moustakas to a torn ACL and starting left fielder Alex Gordon to a broken wrist on the same play earlier this week.
